Who ElphaPex is and whether its ASICs are worth buying for Dogecoin
8 models in our catalog, all on Scrypt, from a home unit at 620 watts to a flagship at 20.5 GH/s. The brand appeared in December 2023 and in about a year and a half became the efficiency leader, but in 2026 it was overtaken. We look at what that changes for the buyer.
A short profile of ElphaPex
ElphaPex is a trademark of the Singapore company FoundationLogic Innovation Corp. It builds miners for a single algorithm, Scrypt, the Litecoin and Dogecoin pair. The brand is young: the domain was registered in December 2023, the manual for the first ASIC, the DG 1, is dated January 2024, and volume shipments started in March. In almost three years the line grew from one model to nine, eight of them in our catalog.
The company is private and says little about itself. It does not name its founders and does not disclose headcount or revenue. The process node and chip markings it does not publish either. Chips are known to be designed in house while manufacturing is outsourced: in a press release about the 2024 Miami trade show the company quoted a vice president of the Samsung foundry division on taking the product to mass production. But there is no confirmation that the chips are actually made there. The claim that the brand was founded by former Bitmain people is common among sellers, but we found no primary source for it.
The peak of the brand is May 2025. It showed the second generation of chips then, shipments began in July, and the DG2+ flagship delivered 20.5 GH/s at 3900 watts, or 0.19 J/MH. It was the best in the industry at that moment, roughly a tenth more efficient than the Antminer L9 of the day in its most common configuration and noticeably better than anything Goldshell made.
Then the brand was overtaken. In September 2025 Bitmain released the Antminer L11 series, where the air cooled Pro version delivers 0.172 J/MH, and in the spring and summer of 2026 Bitdeer brought out a Scrypt series on its own chips at 0.149 J/MH, roughly a fifth more efficient than the DG2+. ElphaPex has had no new flagship since then, and a third generation of chips has not been publicly announced. The brand stayed a solid second tier name with a good price per gigahash, but it lost its technology lead.

ElphaPex history year by year
The history fits into almost three years, one of the shortest of any brand in this section. Dense, though.
- 2023The brand domain is registered in December. Publicly the company does not exist yet.
- 2024The manual for the first miner, the DG 1 at 11 GH/s, 3420 watts and 0.31 J/MH, is dated January. The announcement and volume shipments come in March. April brings the DG 1+ at 14 GH/s.
- 2024April also brings the first firmware update for the DG 1 and DG 1+, with installation instructions dated the tenth. The DG 1+ already ships with it.
- 2024In June the company is the main sponsor of the industry show in Miami and presents the DG Home 1, a home ASIC at 620 watts with liquid cooling inside the case. In November the DG Hydro 1 at 20 GH/s is announced, and in December shipments of the home model begin.
- 2025In January, a booth at the consumer electronics show in Las Vegas, with the home miner shown at around two thousand dollars. In March the DG2 is announced, and at the end of March the first batch of the hydro model leaves.
- 2025On May ninth, at its own conference for distributors, the company shows three new ASICs at once: the rack mount DG 1S on the first generation chip, plus the DG2 and the DG2+ flagship on the second generation at 0.19 J/MH. The efficiency gain over the first generation is about forty percent.
- 2025Shipments follow one after another: the DG 1S in June, the DG2+ in July. June also brings the announcement of the DG 1 Lite, a cheaper version of the first miner, shipping from July. In August a public Canadian company orders twenty five DG2 miners for roughly one hundred ninety thousand dollars.
- 2025In September Bitmain releases the Antminer L11 series, where the air cooled Pro version delivers 0.172 J/MH, and takes from the DG2+ the title of the most efficient air cooled Scrypt ASIC. In October ElphaPex answers with the second generation home model DG2 Mini, shipping from late November.
- 2026In January volume shipments of the DG2 begin, and in an 18 GH/s at 3960 watts configuration rather than the one shown at the conference. In March and June Bitdeer brings out Scrypt miners on its own chips at 0.149 J/MH, roughly a fifth more efficient than the DG2+.
- 2026By August ElphaPex still has no new flagship, and a third generation of chips has not been publicly announced. The latest new model is the home DG2 Mini, about ten months old since the announcement.
ElphaPex miner lines
The names read simply. DG is the family and the digit is the chip generation. Plus means the senior version inside a generation, Lite the cheaper one, S the rack mount build, Home the home format, Hydro liquid cooling. Everything that starts with DG2 is second generation and noticeably more efficient.
Two ASICs in the catalog and the reason people buy the brand. The DG2+ delivers 20.5 GH/s at 3900 watts, or 0.19 J/MH, while our catalog lists the DG2 at 16 GH/s and 3520 watts, or 0.22. At least three builds of the DG2 circulate on the market, at 16, 18 and 20 GH/s, and volume miners since January 2026 come in the 18 GH/s at 3960 watts configuration. Check the build before you pay.
What for: a farm with cheap electricity. These are 0.19 and 0.22 J/MH, the only ASICs of the brand worth buying new.
The DG 1 at 11 GH/s and 3420 watts, the DG 1+ at 14 GH/s and 3950. Efficiency 0.31 and 0.28 J/MH respectively. For 2024 these were decent miners. Today they are more than fifty percent worse than the flagship of the brand on efficiency, and they need very cheap electricity.
What for: your own generation or the secondary market. The electricity threshold here runs from 5.3 to 5.9 cents.
Two ASICs on the same old chip: the DG 1 Lite is a cheaper version of the DG 1 with the same 11 GH/s, and the DG 1S is 10 GH/s in a rack mount build for the data center. Both at 0.31 J/MH. According to parts suppliers, the DG 1S runs on 380 to 480 volts, three phase, not a household mains.
What for: the DG 1S for a rack with three phase input, the DG 1 Lite for an ordinary 200 to 240 volt line. Both need energy below 5.3 cents.
One miner in the catalog: 20 GH/s at 6200 watts. Almost the same hashrate as the DG2+, 20 against 20.5 GH/s, and sixty percent more watts: the chip is first generation. Efficiency 0.31 J/MH, the worst in the catalog together with the DG 1. Rack mount format, 656 by 447 by 86 millimeters, weight about 25 kilograms, three phase power from 380 to 480 volts. Noise is 50 dB per seller listings.
What for: a site with a ready loop and nothing else. That is 6200 watts at 0.31 J/MH.
Inside the case there is its own liquid radiator. On the outside it is a box 418 by 370 by 135 millimeters weighing about ten kilograms. Power from a normal outlet, 100 to 240 volts, noise below 45 dB per an independent review, plus wireless networking, which no other model of the brand has. Our catalog lists the announced 2000 MH/s at 620 watts, while the user manual gives 2100 at 630 in normal mode and 2300 at 700 in high performance mode.
What for: an apartment or an office, 620 watts from an ordinary socket, but work out the profitability in advance.
A second generation home ASIC, 2400 MH/s at 530 watts, or 0.22 J/MH. Announced in October 2025, shipping from late November. It is a direct replacement for the DG Home 1 and clearly better on efficiency, 0.22 against 0.31 J/MH. There are no DG Home 2 and DG Hydro 2 models. Do not get confused by seller listings.
What for: second generation home mining. If you are looking for a home miner from this brand, ask for this one: 0.22 J/MH against 0.31 on the DG Home 1.
ElphaPex builds ASICs for Scrypt only. No bitcoin, no Kaspa, no Alephium, nothing else, ever. It is a narrow specialization with all the pluses and minuses that come with it.

The asic.es catalog holds 8 ElphaPex models, all on Scrypt. Efficiency runs from 0.19 to 0.31 J/MH, so the gap between the best and the worst ASIC is about 1.6 times, and that is the difference between two chip generations.
Power ranges from 620 to 6200 watts. There is a single home ASIC in the catalog. Everything else needs a dedicated room.

Formally there are two coins, in practice it is a single bundle. The ASICs compute both at once, and you cannot separate them when calculating profitability.

Technology: chips, boards, power
The internals of ElphaPex are barely documented. The company publishes neither the process node, nor the chip marking, nor how many chips each board carries. For comparison, Bitmain labels its chips with the BM series, Bitdeer with the SEAL series, and both publish at least part of the data.
Little is known for certain. The chips are designed in house and manufacturing is outsourced. The chip count could only be established from an independent test and only for two first generation ASICs: the DG 1 has 576 chips, 144 on each of the four hash boards, and the DG 1+ has 816, or 204 per board. The second chip generation arrived in May 2025 and delivered about forty percent more efficiency, but neither its name nor its production norms are stated anywhere.

Check power input first: it differs a lot from model to model. The air cooled DG 1, DG 1+, DG 1 Lite, DG2 and DG2+ run on 200 to 240 volts. The DG Home 1 takes 100 to 240, so it plugs into an ordinary socket. The DG Hydro 1 and, according to parts suppliers, the DG 1S need 380 to 480 volts, a three phase industrial connection. Do not confuse the miner rating with the power supply rating: the DG2 itself is specified for 200 to 240 volts, while its power supply accepts 220 to 277.
An independent measurement turned up what the spec sheet does not say. On the DG2 the draw during the first three minutes after start reaches 4300 watts against the rated 3960, and in steady state the same miner took 4055 watts at 19.4 GH/s instead of the declared 18. So both hashrate and consumption came out above the spec sheet. Size breakers and power distribution units with headroom for inrush current.
Climate limits belong to the individual ASIC, and the age of the model tells you nothing about them. The DG 1, DG 1 Lite and DG Home 1 have an operating temperature of 0 to 40 degrees and humidity of 10 to 90 percent. For the DG 1S, DG2 and DG2+ sellers list 5 to 45 degrees and 5 to 95 percent. On the hydro version the figure refers to coolant temperature, 35 to 55 degrees. Operating altitude reaches two thousand meters, and above nine hundred meters the permitted temperature drops by one degree for every three hundred meters of climb.
Cases, cooling and noise
ElphaPex covers all three cooling approaches: plain air, a hydro version for an external loop and a home ASIC with its own liquid radiator inside the case.
DG 1, DG 1+, DG 1 Lite, DG 1S, DG2 and DG2+. Four fans, noise 75 dB, an ordinary industrial level. The case measures 370 or 430 by 196 by 287 millimeters depending on the model, weight 16 to 18.5 kilograms. A separate caveat on the DG 1S: reviews report a tendency to drop frequency in a hot room, which matters for the Spanish summer.
Rack format 656 by 447 by 86 millimeters, weight about 25 kilograms, three phase power. Noise 50 dB per seller listings against 75 on the air miners. But keep the efficiency in mind: a first generation chip, 0.31 J/MH, so on power draw it is the worst ASIC in the catalog, on a par with the DG 1.
A home format with its own liquid radiator inside. No external loop is needed. An ordinary socket at 100 to 240 volts, noise below 45 dB per an independent review, weight about ten kilograms. The only miner of the brand with wireless networking. Some catalogs wrongly list its weight as 22 kilograms. The manual gives 10.2 net.
Firmware for ElphaPex
The factory firmware is managed through a web interface at the miner address on the local network. The address is assigned automatically, and the vendor utility or any network scanner helps to find it. The factory credentials are identical on every ASIC and widely known, so change them right away.
Up to three pools can be configured in the interface, and better to fill in all three: the ASIC then switches over on its own if the connection drops. Merged mining of Litecoin and Dogecoin is supported, along with a number of small coins on the same algorithm. For a fleet there is a separate Windows utility: network scanning, bulk changes of pools and passwords, group firmware updates, monitoring of hashrate, temperatures and fans. It works locally, without internet.
Operating modes exist, but this is a choice among ready made profiles, not per chip auto tuning as on some competitors. The home miner has two modes per the manual, normal and high performance, while an independent review found four, including sleep and economy. On the DG2 and DG2+ overclocking was declared by the manufacturer at the model launch.
There are no third party firmwares for ElphaPex in open access: the known independent developers do not support this brand. Our AsicBoost firmware is built for Antminer only. We found no direct ban on third party software in the manuals, but there is a clause about reselling the product with claims that go beyond the parameters set by the manufacturer, and it is broad enough to be read against the buyer.
Spare parts and components
The parts picture is mixed. Consumables and electronics are available normally, but the main item, hash boards and chips, is absent from the open market. Workshops do work with these miners, and you can see it in the tooling: specialized suppliers make fan emulators for ElphaPex test benches.

Repair: what breaks and what to do about it
Repairability at ElphaPex is average, and it splits along a clear line. Everything replaced as a whole is fixed normally: control boards, power supplies, fans and ribbon cables are available. Everything involving the hash board runs into the absence of both boards and chips on the market.

Reliability, service life and warranty
There are no failure statistics for ElphaPex, and that is to be expected: the brand is almost three years old. Independent bench tests on this brand are plentiful, though.
At forty degrees in the room the DG 1 loses only 2.7 percent of its hashrate, which is good, but its efficiency floats from 0.33 to 0.37 J/MH depending on temperature, so the rated 0.31 is reached only in a cool room. The DG 1+ on the contrary beat its rating and showed 0.26 J/MH at twenty five degrees. On the DG2 they measured 19.4 GH/s at 4055 watts against the declared 18 at 3960: the ASIC is both faster and hungrier than its spec sheet. For the DG 1S there are reviews about frequency drops in a hot room.
The rated efficiency of the first generation is reached only with good cooling, and real consumption can noticeably exceed the declared value. For the Spanish summer and for sizing the electrics this has to be factored in from the start.
We found no public complaints about defects, hash board failures or warranty disputes for this brand, neither on forums nor at review aggregators. That is not proof of reliability, but there are no red flags either.

Energy efficiency by series
ElphaPex has only two chip generations, and the gap between them decides everything: 0.31 J/MH against 0.19.
The hydro version and the rack model are built on the old chip. The chassis format changes nothing here: per gigahash consumed they are exactly the same as a plain DG 1.

As of August 2026 the DG2+ no longer leads on efficiency: ahead of it are the Bitdeer ASICs at 0.149 J/MH, four Bitmain L11 series miners, two hydro units at 0.165 and 0.172 and two air units at 0.172 and 0.184, plus one VolcMiner at 0.179. The whole ElphaPex first generation, 0.28 to 0.31, sits far down that list.
About money. The break even threshold comes out of a formula: take roughly 0.0165 and divide it by efficiency in J/MH, and you get the maximum kilowatt hour price in euros. For the DG2+ that is about 8.7 cents, for the DG2 about 7.5, for the entire first generation between 5.3 and 5.9. At typical Spanish small business tariffs no ASIC of this brand turns a profit. The DG2+ is the one exception, and only at those 8.7 cents.
Comparison with competitors
We compare with three brands that build miners for the same algorithm: Bitmain as the all rounder with a strong L series, Bitdeer as the current Scrypt efficiency leader, Goldshell as the representative of the quiet home segment.

ElphaPex started from zero and in eighteen months became the Scrypt efficiency leader. That was May 2025. It could not hold the position, and today both Bitmain and Bitdeer beat it on power draw.
What remains strong: price per gigahash, a full line from a home ASIC to a hydro version, and a working market for consumables. What is weak: secrecy about the chips, no hash boards on sale, no own service in Europe and no new flagship for over a year. If you are buying, buy the DG2+ or the DG2. The first generation is justified today only at secondary market prices.
Who ElphaPex hardware suits
The main scenario for this brand. The DG2+ at 20.5 GH/s is the best ElphaPex has, and on a contract cheaper than roughly 8.7 cents per kilowatt hour it turns a profit. Power supply 200 to 240 volts, four fans, 75 dB, and a separate room is mandatory.
What to buy: the DG2+ at 0.19 J/MH, the DG2 at 0.22 on a tight budget.
The DG Home 1 was built exactly for this: a liquid radiator inside the chassis, a standard wall socket, a noise level below 45 dB per an independent review, wireless networking. But its efficiency is first generation. If you need a home ASIC from this brand, ask about the second generation DG2 Mini, which is not in our catalog yet.
What to buy: the DG Home 1 at 620 watts, or better the DG2 Mini at 530.
The DG 1S comes in a rack format, and the DG Hydro 1 is the hydro version for an external loop. Both need three phase power, 380 to 480 volts. But both run the old chip, and on power draw they are exactly the same as a plain DG 1.
What to buy: the DG 1S or the DG Hydro 1, and only if three phase input is already there and energy is below 5.3 cents.
As of August 2026 about four fifths of a Scrypt miner's revenue comes from Dogecoin, not Litecoin. If you believe in that coin and want to mine it yourself, the brand fits.
What to buy: the DG2+ at 20.5 GH/s, and keep an eye on the Litecoin halving in 2027.
The first generation, 0.28 to 0.31 J/MH, now sells noticeably cheaper. It only makes sense with your own generation or with surplus solar output, when a kilowatt hour costs around five cents or less.
What to buy: the DG 1+ at 0.28 J/MH, the best of the generation, the rest at hardware prices.
The competition wins here. ElphaPex has no current chip ASIC in a hydro build, no service network and no hash boards on sale, and on efficiency it no longer leads.
What to buy: compare with Bitdeer at 0.149 J/MH and with the L11 series from 0.165.
Common problems and how to prevent them
Calculate profitability before you buy. At Spanish tariffs only the DG2+ turns a profit, and only on a contract cheaper than roughly 8.7 cents per kilowatt hour. The whole first generation needs energy at five or six cents. The formula is simple: the maximum kilowatt hour price in euros is roughly 0.0165 divided by efficiency in J/MH.
The Litecoin halving in 2027. The block reward will be cut in half around July or August 2027, about a year away. An ASIC bought today has to pay for itself before that point or survive it on cheap energy.
Different builds under one name. The DG2 circulates on the market at 16, 18 and 20 GH/s, the DG 1+ at 13, 14 and 14.4. The production DG2 since January 2026 is 18 GH/s at 3960 watts. Confirm the exact build in writing before you pay.
Real consumption is above the spec sheet. An independent measurement of the DG2 gave 4055 watts against the stated 3960, and during the first three minutes of startup the miner drew up to 4300. Size the breaker for those 4300 watts of inrush.
Rated efficiency only in cool conditions. On the DG 1 real efficiency drifts from 0.33 to 0.37 J/MH depending on temperature, and the rated 0.31 is reached only in a cool room. The DG 1S has been reported to throttle its frequency in the heat. For a Spanish summer this has to be planned for in advance.
The warranty counts from the production date. Not from the purchase. With slow shipping from Asia part of the term is already spent before the ASIC reaches you. Ask for the production date.
Hash boards and chips are not on sale. Consumables and electronics can be found, but the main assembly cannot. The brand is young and there are few donor miners on the market. If you are buying several ASICs, factor this into your maintenance plan.
Fake websites. At least five domains present themselves as the official ElphaPex site and offer firmware and the brand utility for download. The only address named in the manufacturer's official manuals is elphapex.com. Firmware must never be downloaded from other sites.
Operating tips
Ten points, half of them specific to this brand and to the state of the Scrypt market today.
- Fix the build in writingThe DG2 and the DG 1+ are sold as different miners under one name. The invoice must state the exact hashrate and power draw. The model name alone is not enough.
- Ask for the production dateThe warranty counts from that date. With slow logistics from Asia half of the factory one hundred and eighty days can be gone. Ask the seller to put the date in writing.
- Check the voltage of your lineThe air cooled models run on 200 to 240 volts, the home model on 100 to 240, but the DG Hydro 1 and the DG 1S need three phase power, 380 to 480 volts. Those are different electrical projects.
- Size the breaker for the inrush currentOn the DG2 consumption reaches 4300 watts during the first three minutes after power on. The steady state is above the spec sheet too. Size the breaker from 4300: the rated 3960 is no guide here.
- Keep it coolOn the first generation the rated efficiency is reached only in a cool room, and in the heat the ASIC draws the same watts for less hashrate. Separate the cold and hot air streams.
- Set all three poolsThe interface lets you enter three addresses, and better to fill all three: if the link drops the miner switches over on its own.
- Change the factory password immediatelyIt is the same on every ASIC of this brand and it is common knowledge. Keep the miner in a separate network segment and do not forward its port to the outside.
- Firmware only from the official addressAt least five sites pose as official and offer downloads. The only address given in the manufacturer's manuals is elphapex.com, otherwise take the files from your seller.
- Count income from both coins at onceLitecoin and Dogecoin are mined at the same time. Today about four fifths of the revenue comes from Dogecoin, and a calculation based on Litecoin alone understates the result several times over.
- Buy from a seller with an EU legal entityThe brand has no service centers of its own in Europe and publishes no list of authorized distributors. All practical buyer protection comes down to the seller's obligations. And inside the European Union there is a common rule on seller liability for non conforming goods, which in Spain runs three years from delivery.

What is ElphaPex and who owns it?
ElphaPex is a trademark of the Singapore company FoundationLogic Innovation Corp. The company is private: it does not name its founders and does not disclose headcount or turnover. The brand appeared in December 2023, the manual for the first miner is dated January 2024, and shipments started in March.
Which algorithms does ElphaPex support?
Only Scrypt, the Litecoin and Dogecoin pair. The brand has never had ASICs for any other algorithm, and this is its deliberate narrow specialization.
How many ElphaPex models are in the asic.es catalog?
Eight, all on Scrypt. Power ranges from 620 to 6200 watts, efficiency from 0.19 to 0.31 J/MH. The gap between the best and the worst miner is roughly 1.6 times, and that is the gap between two chip generations.
Which ElphaPex ASIC is the most efficient?
DG2+: 20.5 GH/s at 3900 watts, or 0.19 J/MH. When it came out in May 2025 this was the best figure in the industry on Scrypt.
Is it true that ElphaPex leads on efficiency?
Not any more. DG2+ was shown on 9 May 2025, shipments began on 10 July, and it held the efficiency lead until roughly September of that year. Then Bitmain released the Antminer L11 series with an air cooled Pro version at 0.172 J/MH, and in the spring and summer of 2026 Bitdeer brought out miners at 0.149 J/MH, roughly a fifth more efficient. Today DG2+ no longer leads the industry.
How should the model names be read?
DG is the family and the digit is the chip generation. Plus marks the senior version within a generation, Lite the cost reduced one, S the rack format, Home the home format, Hydro liquid cooling. Everything starting with DG2 is second generation and noticeably more efficient.
Why do different sellers quote different figures for DG2?
Because at least three builds exist under one name, at 16, 18 and 20 GH/s. Production ASICs from January 2026 come in the 18 GH/s configuration at 3960 watts. DG 1+ has a similar story: 13, 14 and 14.4 GH/s all turn up. Insist that the invoice states the exact figures.
Which chips are used in ElphaPex miners?
The manufacturer does not publish this: neither the process node, nor the part marking, nor the number of chips. All that is known is that the chips are designed in house and production is outsourced. The chip count became known from an independent test and only for two ASICs: DG 1 has 576 and DG 1+ has 816.
Does ElphaPex have home miners?
Yes, two. The DG Home 1 gives 2100 MH/s at 630 watts in normal mode per the manual, with a liquid radiator inside the case, an ordinary wall socket and a noise level below 45 dB per an independent review, and it is the only model of the brand with wireless networking. The DG2 Mini gives 2400 MH/s at 530 watts, already second generation, at 0.22 J/MH against 0.31 on the older one. Our catalog currently carries only the first one.
Is there a hydro version?
Yes, DG Hydro 1 at 20 GH/s and 6200 watts, rack format, three phase power, noise 50 dB per seller listings. But its chip is first generation, so consumption works out at 0.31 J/MH, the worst figure in the catalog alongside the plain DG 1. No DG Hydro 2 model exists.
Can your AsicBoost firmware be installed on ElphaPex?
No. AsicBoost is built for Antminer only. It supports 28 models: the S19 and S21 series plus T9+, T19 and T21.
Are there third party firmwares for ElphaPex?
Not in open access: the known independent developers do not support this brand. Overclocking is done with the stock tools, and on DG2 and DG2+ it was stated by the manufacturer when the models were presented.
Is there per chip auto tuning?
No. The factory firmware offers a choice of preset modes rather than the iterative auto tuning some competitors have. The home ASIC has two modes according to the manual, while an independent review found four, including sleep and economy.
What warranty does ElphaPex give?
The user manuals do not state a term, and the warranty terms on the manufacturer site cannot be checked from outside. Sellers quote 180 days, six months, and counted from the production date, not from the purchase date. Some European shops add their own warranty on top of the factory one, but that is an obligation of the seller, not of the manufacturer.
What voids the warranty?
According to the manuals: disassembly by the owner, removing the cover on a running miner, undoing screws and disconnecting cables, improper power shutdown, operation outside the stated climate conditions. There is no direct ban on third party firmware there, only a broad clause about reselling the product with claims that go beyond the manufacturer parameters.
Is there a service center in Europe?
The brand has no centers of its own, and it does not publish a public list of authorized distributors either. Repairs in Europe are done by independent workshops. That is exactly why with this brand it is fundamentally important to buy from a seller inside the European Union.
Are spare parts easy to find?
Depends which ones. Control boards, power supplies, fans, ribbon cables and connectors sell normally, and there is even dedicated repair tooling for this brand. Hash boards and individual chips, however, we did not find on open sale, and that is the main limitation on repairs.
What did independent tests show?
At forty degrees DG 1 loses only 2.7 percent of hashrate, but its real efficiency drifts from 0.33 to 0.37 J/MH, so the rated 0.31 is reached only in cool conditions. DG 1+ on the contrary beat its rating and delivered 0.26 J/MH at twenty five degrees. DG2 measured 19.4 GH/s at 4055 watts against the stated 18 at 3960, and at startup the ASIC briefly draws up to 4300 watts.
How profitable is this in Spain today?
At typical small business tariffs not a single model of the brand comes out ahead. DG2+ turns a profit only with a contract below roughly 8.7 cents per kilowatt hour. The whole first generation needs five or six. Use the formula: the limit price of a kilowatt hour in euros is roughly 0.0165 divided by the efficiency in J/MH.
What matters more for income, Litecoin or Dogecoin?
As of August 2026 the bulk of the revenue, about four fifths, comes from Dogecoin. Both coins are mined at the same time and with no extra energy cost, but a calculation based on Litecoin alone understates the result several times over. In practice, buying a Scrypt miner today is a bet on Dogecoin.
What happens to profitability after the Litecoin halving?
The Litecoin block reward will halve around July or August 2027. The Dogecoin reward does not change, so there will be no twofold collapse, but a noticeable drop will happen. An ASIC bought today should pay for itself before that point, or run on very cheap energy.
So should you take an ElphaPex or not?
If you need a miner for Litecoin and Dogecoin and you have cheap electricity, DG2+ is a sensible choice on the price to hashrate ratio. The first generation is justified today only at secondary market prices. But compare it with Bitdeer and Bitmain ASICs on the same algorithm: they are ahead on efficiency, and Bitmain is well ahead on spare parts and service.
