Which Antminer models the AsicBoost firmware supports
Supported models and control board types
Before you buy the firmware, check two things: whether your model is on the list and which control board it has. A mistake at this step costs more than anything else.
The firmware is built separately for each control board architecture, not for each ASIC model. That is why the table below puts board types next to the model: one and the same model can have several of them, depending on the production year and the batch. How to identify your board we cover in the section on control board types.
For the popular models we have separate pages with prices and terms: Antminer S21, S19 Pro, L7. The rest are gathered in the firmware section.

L series, Scrypt
| Model | Board types | Cooling |
|---|---|---|
| L7 | xil | air |
| L9 | aml, cv | air |
| U2L9H | aml | water |
The L series computes Scrypt and mines LTC and DOGE at the same time, with merged mining. The dev fee on this series is lower: 1.8% against 2.8% on the S and T series.
What is not supported
Being precise here matters, because the support list gets inflated all over the internet.
- S17, T17, S9, T9+, L3+. Separate old builds for them existed once, but the current support list does not include these models. There is nothing to put on them.
- L11. In the L series the supported units are L7, L9 and the hydro version U2L9H. L11 is not in the developer official list.
- Whatsminer, Innosilicon, Avalon and everything else not from Bitmain. The firmware is written for Antminer control boards and does not run on other hardware.
A word on the stock firmware version
Even if your model is on the list, installation depends on which stock sits on the ASIC right now. Since 2024 Bitmain ships protected firmware that closes SSH and blocks downgrades. The date boundaries and what to do in each case we covered in the section on installation.
